Oberlin Guitar Ensemble Concert

I've always favored mixed chamber music for my student's Guitar Ensemble experiences over music for multiple guitars. This program, though, did feature three guitar duets--more than normal! Also featured were a cellist, a baritone singer, a trumpeter and a flutist...

Here is Max Lyman with cellist Boris Popadiuk, playing Speil by Estonian composer Erkki-Sven Tüür.

Next was Rebecca Klein and Philip Lutz in a performance of the Grand Duo by Napoleon Coste.

Trumpeter Leo Harrington played the Seite Canciones Populaires Españolas by Manuel de Falla with Daniel Nitsch.

Jacob Blizard and Zhuoru Lin played the Suite Retratos by Radames Gnattali.

Baritone Jason Goldberg was accompanied by Sarah Boyson on three Schubert lieder.

Flutist Tasieafe Hiner and guitarist Leonard Renallo played L'Histoire du Tango by Astor Piazzolla.

Finally, Sarah Boyson and Crispin swank played the Tonadilla by Joaquin Rodrigo.

Thanks to all who participated. What a terrific concert!
