Colin Davin Master Class
Colin Davin has been teaching at CIM (Cleveland Institute of Music) as Jason Vieaux's assistant for a few years and recently took over the position at another nearby conservatory--Baldwin Wallace. We decided to bring him in for a class so the students could get better acquainted with him.
Colin was animated and articulate, bringing to his teaching plenty of on-stage experience as well as a scholar's attention to historical performance practice and style. The students loved the class. We had a great hang together afterwards at The Feve, where Colin regaled us with numerous stories, many uproarious. We'll have him back.
Mohit Dubey played Regondi's Study No. 1:
Brian King played Rodrigo's Fandango:
Aidan Lippke played Albeniz' Cadiz:
Collin Sterne played Bach's Prelude, Fugue and Allegro, BWV 998, but unfortunately I forgot to take the pics (!).
(Stephen Fazio was at a rehearsal and Rebecca Klein is on a semester's leave, studying in Israel).
