Some of the students in the Oberlin Conservatory guitar studio were on stage last night for the first of our two fall Guitar Ensemble recitals. The playing was terrific and the audience responded in kind. The program was a curious de Falla sandwich, in which one ensemble played three and another ensemble played the remaining four movements of the Seite Canciones Populaires Españolas.

Mohit Dubey with Raphael Boden, cello, play three movements from de Falla's Seven Popular Spanish Songs.

Jacob Blizard and Leonard Renallo in the world premiere of Blizard's own arrangement of the Valse Triste from Sibelius' Symphony 2, Op. 44.

Brian King with Katie Kim, flute, playing Giuliani's Op. 85.

Max Lyman, Daniel Nitsch and Mohit Dubey play Albeniz' Cordoba.

Daniel Nitsch and trumpeter Leo Harrington play the remaining three movements of the de Falla Seven Popular Spanish Songs.
