May 16 Leonard Renallo's Sophomore Recital

Leonard "Lenny" Renallo, Oberlin sophomore, gave his second full-length solo recital last week at Oberlin in Fairchild Chapel. His program featured the

Grande Overture, Op. 60

by Giuliani, Bach's

Cello Suite No. 6, BWV 1012

and works by several Spanish composers: Turina's

Rafaga

, Mompou's

Cancion

, Rodrigo's

En los Trigales

, and Torroba's

Arada

. A recent prizewinner in the All-Ohio James Stroud Competition, he demonstrated his prowess with moments of rousing virtuosity as well as many lovely introspective moments. Congratulations, Lenny, on another terrific performance!
