This is Oberlin student Jacob Blizard playing for Patrick Kearney. Jacob played Ponce's Theme Varie and Finale. Other student performers were Max Lyman (Giuliani: Sonata in C), Lenny Renallo (Mompou: Cancion from Suite Compostelana) and Sarah Boyson (Domeniconi: Koyunbaba). Everyone liked his solution to playing really fast repeated chords (re one of the Ponce variations)--to use both the front AND the back of the nails in a down-up strumming-like movement....
